Community quarantine is being implemented by various governments worldwide thanks to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. Staying indoors is the main strategy for now as medical experts are trying to combat the disease and possibly find a cure or vaccine. While that’s still ongoing, here are a few things you will need during quarantine season.
Although the virus is not airborne, the possibility of catching it from another person (whether confirmed or asymptomatic) through microdroplets from careless sneezing or coughing is still there so wearing a face mask is best. Washable face masks is a good way to lessen waste for green living and save on costs.
Going outside for some necessities like groceries, medicine, food, and the like would still be part of quarantine life so wearing gloves enables extra protection from contamination since you touch a lot of things with your hands. Again, less carbon footprint through washable gloves would be ideal instead of disposable ones.
Hand Sanitizer / Rubbing alcohol
Hand washing is advised but if a faucet and soap aren’t nearby, good ol’ hand sanitizer will do a nice job for you. You can easily share some of your companions as well. Encourage safety always. Alcohol spray type would be ideal, too, to disinfect other parts of you aside from your hands.
Even if no one in your household is infected, use household disinfectant spray especially if household companions just arrived from outside. The virus may not be in the person but maybe silently lurking in some inanimate objects.
It’s best to steer clear of hospitals this time since medical professionals will have their primary focus on the ongoing pandemic. You also wouldn’t want to unluckily catch the coronavirus there so best to stay healthy and stock up on basic meds and your prescribed meds at home.
It’s going to be a long “house arrest” so having a paid subscription to various movies or TV shows will let you enjoy your indoor stay. Watching the news can be a bit heavy sometimes so do enjoy your staycation with nice TV entertainment.
Meal Kit Delivery Services
If cooking just isn’t your talent, rely on a good ol’ meal delivery service. It may not be coronavirus but you wouldn’t want to end up in the hospital because of poor health from improper diet/nutrition.
Whether it’s a console, PC, or mobile device, you would definitely rely on another source of entertainment aside from the TV.
Hospitals may be open but we can’t be sure with vets so best to keep your pet healthy during the quarantine season. Stock up on those basic pet needs and meds.
Why not learn a new instrument or a new computer skill? Subscribing to online classes makes you productive, not just entertained.
Kind of funny, right? But don’t take it for granted since communication with distant family, friends, or colleagues during this quarantine season will primarily be video chat. Not every video call will have a filter for you to use.
